About West Liberty Economic Area Development (WeLEAD)

We Lead, (West Liberty Economic Area Development) is a non-profit 501(c)(3)corporation organized in 2006 to stimulate economic benefits in the West Liberty area. The objective is to create, develop, and maintain strong business relationships, and to establish a climate in which new and existing businesses can flourish. 

New business coaching and exisiting business visits allow We Lead to remain plugged in to the local business needs and to assist with job creation in our community. 

We Lead is a catalyst for leadership in the community with its Leadership West Liberty Program. 

We Lead has partnered with Iowa State University Extension, The City of West Liberty, Muscatine County and Local Investors to create a sustainable organization that is strategic and forward thinking. 

We Lead is one of three organizations showcased in the 2012 Iowa State University Extension Annual Report.  Executive Director Karen Lathrop walks the ISU team through aspects of West Liberty in one segment of the ISU Extension video called Acting in Catalytic Ways.
